Each studio comprises an entrance hall, living/bedroom, fitted kitchen area with appliances, shower room/WC and has a private balcony. Flooring is laminate wood flooring in the living/bedroom area and vinyl flooring in the shower room/ WC. There is a secure service cupboard adjacent to the studio and accessible from the corridor. This houses a cold water stopcock, electric water heater, electric fuse box and concealed WC cistern specific for the studio. The individual electric meter for each studio on a given floor is housed in a locked hub room on that level. Access to read individual meters can be agreed with the maintenance supervisor. For full information on how the studio is equipped please see the Inventory. A central television aerial and satellite dish is located on the roof of the building providing wiring for digital and Sky Plus to each studio. All studios are wired with connections to the building-wide broadband network by way of a Cat5e cable and some user guideline restrictions apply (similar to those set by the university). It is also possible for a student to arrange for a dedicated broadband line to be installed into their studio, together with their choice of provider subscription package. Naturally the costs incurred for this will be the responsibility of the student or owner and arrangements will need to be agreed with the building maintenance manager. There are a limited number of vacant studios available for immediate occupation in this prestigious building.
