For security, Maritime Studios has secure, controlled access to both the building reception area and from reception to the studios, at all times. 24 hour security is provided by CCTV cover and by security personnel who patrol and operate call-out for emergencies. Individual studios have security key locks fitted to the front door and balcony doors. Each studio comprises an entrance hall, living room/bedroom, kitchen with fitted appliances, shower room/WC and its own private balcony. The studios are provided with connections to the building-wide broadband network by way of a Cat5e cable and some user guideline restrictions apply (similar to those set by the university). It is also possible for a student to arrange for a dedicated broadband line to be installed into their studio, together with their choice of provider subscription package. Naturally the costs incurred for this will be their responsibility and arrangements will need to be agreed with the building maintenance manager. ![]() In addition to the studios, there are 2 common rooms - each broadband wireless enabled. The ground floor reception/common room has individual, locked post boxes for each studio. There are a number of undercover cycle racks, a limited number of car parking bays and secure stores, each available for rent on a first come, first served basis. There are a limited number of vacant studios available for immediate occupation in this prestigious building.
