Impression of the Common living areas - Student rental in FalmouthLiving Spaces: Maritime Studios has been specifically designed to accommodate students in Falmouth providing recreational facilities, and secure self-contained relatively indulgent living spaces with individual accommodation more akin to hotel facilities. Students are able to socialise and relax in the communal areas and enjoy the stunning views they afford.

Common Facilities: Both the Reception and Common Room areas are designed to provide the students with space to socialise with relaxed seating and in the Reception area there is a meeting area as well as a plasma TV screen, individual post boxes for each apartment and a pay phone. In the Residents' Common Room, the students enjoy a game of pool, and there are vending machines providing drinks and refreshments, and a second pay phone.

Security:
Security is provided by way of a secure door to the main building, with each studio having an individual locked door, CCTV of the communal areas, stairwells and lift levels. Disabled access is granted to all levels through the building by way of the lift, with doorways wide enough for wheelchairs.

Transport: Outside there is visitor car parking and a number of bike racks with a limited number of lockable stores available on a 'first come first served' basis.  Cycling, public transport and car sharing are strongly encouraged, partly because the Woodlane campus of the University of Falmouth and the railway station are both so near, partly because of the overall ethos of the building and its student community, and partly because it is an important aspect of the terms of the building's construction and operation.

Appliances and Disposables: As the students have settled in we have found it necessary to add some extra faciilties for their comfort, and the smooth running of the building.  Each floor now has its own iron and ironing boards, vaccum cleaner, and laminate flooring clearner, and there is also a supply of light bulbs on site when required.

Newsflash

Maritime Line train services will more than double form Monday, May 18, with the opening of a new passing loop at Penryn Station.

Through most of the day, six days a week, trains will run every 30 minutes between Truro, Penryn, Perran-ar-Worthal and Falmouth.

This transformation is being made possible thanks to a Cornwall Council led £7.8 million investment by the ERDF Convergence Programme, Network Rail and First Great Western.

A new 400m loop and associated signalling has been installed at Penryn that will enable trains to pass each other in the station.
