A Falmouth Working Boat under sail, traditionally used for fishing and oyster catching but now many are used in an active racing sceneEnjoy the lifestyle that Cornwall has to offer you when you study at Falmouth. Learn to sail at the Falmouth School of Sailing or put your name down at one of the many sailing clubs and crew in some of the races on the Carrick Roads. The diving provides interesting rocky coastlines with numerous wrecks, your local dive centre is a short walk from Maritime Studios.

Join in with the fun social scene with the local rowing clubs: Falmouth Gig Club are based in Falmouth harbour, or take a short trip up to Stithians resevoir to row with the Falmouth Rowing Club.

Whilst living in Cornwall surfing is one of the best ways to explore the coastline and experience the adrenaline rush! Learn with Falmouth Surf School who will pick you up from Falmouth and take you to the surf. When the conditions are right you will have surf a short walk away on Gyllanvase beach.

There are numerous local sports clubs including rugby and cricket. Within a short stroll from Maritime Studios you will find Ships and Castles a local swimming pool and gym.

Newsflash

Students at the Tremough campus in Penryn have been receiving invaluable hints on how to eat healthily on a budget.

A new scheme encouraging students to cook nutritious, yet affordable, meals has been set up by university College Falmouth and the University of Exeter, which share the campus.

The project is being run by Eatsome, a healthy eating programme which is part of NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

The weekly cooking sessions cater for up to eight students.
