Wood Lane Campus has been the home of University College Falmouth, (formerly Falmouth Art School and Falmouth Art College) since the 1950s, and still holds many of the courses in central Falmouth despite the massive developments up the hill at Tremough. Right in the heart of Falmouth town, yet almost hidden in a wooded area, the campus is praised by students and others as being a place with a very special atmosphere.
Wood Lane is home to courses including: BA(Hons) Fashion Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Journalism, Performance Sportswear Design and Public Relations, and providing facilities for MA Creative Advertising and MA 20th Century Art & Design: Histories & Theories. It has seen the beginning of so many successful fine art and design careers that it is hard to select one, although Tacita Dean's short-listing for the Turner Prize will always be a high point.
Less than half a mile from the Maritime Student Building - Falmouth's most desirable student accommodation - the campus is also only a few hundred yards from the town centre (one way), and the beach (the other).
