Maritime Studios provides 145 high quality, individual studios for students who are studying in and around Falmouth. Security is important as is the opportunity to socialise out of college and university, and at Maritime Studios we offer excellent facilities for both.
Completed in October 2008, Maritime Studios is known in the student community as having a friendly and relaxed atmosphere offering high quality accommodation all with external terraces or balconies. It provides a safe and sociable modern environment with secure, controlled access to the building with security and CCTV cover.
Good public transport links to the campus at Tremough, and it is within a few minutes' walking distance of both the campus at Wood Lane and the Marine School. Situated adjacent to Falmouth Docks railway station (branch line to Truro) and with “First” buses stopping at the end of the road (Pendennis Rise), Maritime Studios is a level walk to Falmouth town.
Facilities within the building include a lift to all floors, a ground floor common room with plasma screen and Blue Ray DVD player, together with a pool table and vending machine; whilst in the “penthouse” common room on the 5th floor there is a relaxing seating area and plasma screen with games consols connectivity and wireless broadband connection. With stunning views over sea, town and harbour - particularly from the triple aspect of this common room - this is a superb meeting place for the students in residence to show off to their friends and family.
Students can also walk to the nearby Ships & Castles Leisure Centre with swimming pool, Ocean Bowl ten pin bowling club and Falmouth town which offers a variety of pubs, clubs and student-focused outlets as well as a range of local and national shops.
Some apartments are privately owned and offer a great investment opportunity. Others are available for student rental, and can be occupied for the summer vacation period, while the remaining studios will continue to be occupied by students who are currently in residence and moving on to the next year of their course at The Combined Universities in Cornwall.
